Why Menopause Deserves a Slot in your CPD
Surely everyone is talking about menopause so you don’t have to?
Firstly, although it seems that everyone’s talking about menopause and perimenopause that’s still not the case. There are small pockets of the internet where everyone is talking about it intensely, and also spaces where it hasn’t made a ripple. There are also still people holding their hands of their ears and humming their happy song. Which of course is their right. And something they’ll do until one day they need to do otherwise!
Where is it being talked about it’s getting intense and it’s getting polarised. Misinformation abounds. Everyone’s got something to say about it — and some of what is being said is scary. There are tribes. Everyone thinks they know what’s best for everyone else. People are talking about it as if it’s a kind of battle — with doctors, with employers, with government.
None of which helps your school
Your school doesn’t need any more battles. It needs a little calm. The discussion needs a little nuance. We all need accurate information. We need sensitivity and we need pragmatism. We need to come together to solve problems. We need to support people in cutting through all the hype and making the decisions that are right for them.
