I’m 56 and I don’t feel invisible. I’m not sexually harassed (often) anymore. Those guys weren’t seeing me, they were checking me out. That’s just another kind of invisibility. I connect with men differently, and I also connect deeply with other women and children. Seriously the kids next door think I’m queen of the whole freeking universe! Men make up less than half the world and the kind of men we’re talking about much less than half that — and we may well be talking about the kind of people who can’t truly see anyone.
